What is shared hosting?

Shared hosting keeps a number of hosting accounts on one server, where they share its disk space, bandwidth and processing power. Sharing the cost of that server is what makes it one of the cheapest ways to get a site online.

Should I choose Windows or Linux hosting?

Choose Windows if your site is built with Microsoft technology such as ASP.NET, MS Access or SQL Server. Choose Linux if it uses PHP and MySQL. A plain HTML site will run happily on either.

Does each account get its own application pool?

Yes. Every Windows shared account runs in its own application pool, separate from other customers on the server.

Which languages are supported?

Windows shared hosting runs ASP and ASP.NET. PHP and Perl run on both our Windows and Linux platforms, though Perl scripts usually run more smoothly on Linux.

How do I manage my account?

Through the Plesk control panel, which covers sites, email, databases and DNS, and installs common applications in one click from the Application Vault.
